Marriage between Hollywood Stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Ending after Jolie Files for Divorce

Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from her movie star husband Brad Pitt. The petition filed with the court listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

The couple is enormously popular around the world and had been dubbed “Brangelina” for several years. News of the Pitt-Jolie divorce has led to headlines in print media outlets and across the Internet, with seemingly everyone weighing in on the Hollywood power couple’s high-profile split.

In addition to being major Hollywood actors, Pitt and Jolie have also been active in giving back to the community. After Hurricane Katrina, Pitt devoted time and money to efforts to build houses for people who were displaced in New Orleans. Meanwhile, Jolie has been a United Nations special envoy for refugee issues for several years. Jolie has also been a strong public advocate for women who were sexually assaulted in war zones across the world.

While the Hollywood power couple’s divorce is shocking many people, a source close to Pitt and Jolie recently spoke with the media and said that the Pitt-Jolie marriage had been showing signs of strain for a while. The source noted that Pitt and Jolie spent a lot of time apart in the past year. Pitt and Jolie hadn’t been photographed together in several months.

While Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition, at least one media report indicated that Jolie made the decision to file for divorce because she was “upset with Pitt’s parenting skills.”

The divorce of Pitt and Jolie has shocked a lot of people because the Hollywood couple was generally seen as the gold standard for relationships. However, the reality is that even famous people get divorced and no one is immune to relationship difficulties. Sometimes, it’s in the best interests of both parties to end the relationship and move on with their lives.

However, when the marriage involves children, as it does in the case of Pitt and Jolie, moving on can be more difficult. That’s because child custody and child support could very easily become contentious issues for a divorcing couple with kids.

I was living a nightmare of being falsely accused in a judicial system that considers all fathers to be dead beat dads until proven innocent. Living out of state and facing the possibility of jail, I miraculously found Jon’s website and called his office. Within a week the tables were turned, the lies were exposed, and the harassment was stopped. If you need someone that will challenge the system, then you need Jonathan Katz. Greg Weaver

Jon’s integrity towards his clients is what makes him a standout attorney. He makes it a priority to know what's important to you. You’re not just a number. He is upfront with you right from the start. He will not string you along just for his financial benefit. He is only willing to settle the case if that's truly what you want. Anytime I called him I received a call back from him that day. Not someone else in the office. He is an attorney that has a passion for what's important to his clients. John Morrissey

Jon thinks well, works to be clear and honest. He works to get to a strong argument. He seems to have a good working relationship with everybody at the courthouse. I get the feeling he has no trouble thinking like a judge. He is friendly and courteous. He doesn't overbill. He takes and returns calls promptly. His legal staff is friendly and competent.
